School Age Services/Afterschool Programs

Welcome

The hours in between school ending and parents returning home from work are crucial hours in the life of a child.  Afterschool programs provide students the opportunity to engage in hands-on learning, interact with their peers, work under the care and supervision of supportive mentors, build on lessons learned during the school day and more. According to National research, there are 7.8 million students enrolled in afterschool programs across the US. In 2020, 90% of parents reported that afterschool programs provide students with peer interaction and aid in building social skills, 85% felt they were able to take part in physical activities, and 73% felt they were getting homework assistance and engaging in STEM learning opportunities. (American After 3 PM Report, DEC. 2020). OCPS offers a variety of programs.

  • ParentSquare

All schools in our district use ParentSquare for school communication primarily with email, text, and app notifications.

ParentSquare automatically syncs with our student information system to generate an account for each parent, using their preferred email address and phone number. We encourage parents to access their accounts so they can download the mobile app and update their preferences on when and how they are notified.

ParentSquare is a safe, secure, and modern approach to communication and collaboration between school and home. Learn more and get started today by viewing our ParentSquare web page. [UPDATE LINK]
